Joe Eisma
Joe Eisma is best known as the interior artist for the long-running Image Comics series *Morning Glories*, a tense prep-school thriller that he helped bring to life from its 2010 debut. Born in 1980 in the Philippines, Eisma moved into comics after studying animation, bringing a clean, expressive style to the series’ ensemble cast of six troubled students. Working closely with writer Nick Spencer, he defined the look of the mysterious Morning Glory Academy across dozens of issues, with cover art by Rodin Esquejo. Eisma’s work balances character-driven emotion with the series’ escalating, sinister plot twists.
Beyond *Morning Glories*, Eisma has been a versatile collaborator across genres. At Archie Comics, he illustrated *Jughead: The Hunger*, *The Archies*, and the crossover *Jughead the Hunger vs Vampironica*, lending a modern, dynamic edge to classic characters. He also contributed to licensed titles like *Charlie’s Angels* and *Big Trouble in Little China*. His career, spanning from 2010 into 2026, shows a steady hand for both indie and franchise storytelling. While not a frequent award-winner, Eisma’s consistent, accessible art has made him a reliable presence in monthly comics, particularly for his ability to anchor long-form mystery and horror narratives with clear, engaging visuals.
