Vampironica: New Blood #4

The concluding chapter of Archie Horror's four-part Vampironica: New Blood arrives with a cover that perfectly captures the series' blend of teen style and gothic unease — Veronica, leather jacket and pink skirt, pressing herself against a stone wall in a darkened stairwell, flashlight in hand, eyes wide and wary of whatever lurks just out of sight. Audrey Mok's cover art bathes the scene in deep blues and shadow, giving the image a genuinely tense, cinematic quality. It's a satisfying finish to a mini-series that has consistently delivered Archie characters in refreshingly atmospheric horror territory, with a creative team — including writers Frank Tieri and Michael Moreci and colorist Matt Herms — that clearly understands how to make Riverdale feel genuinely eerie.
