David Anthony Kraft
David Anthony Kraft was an American comic book writer, publisher, and critic, born on May 31, 1952. He is best known for his long-running journal *Comics Interview*, which featured in-depth conversations with industry figures, and for his work at Marvel Comics in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Kraft began his career in the mid-1970s, eventually writing, coloring, and editing over 120 issues across multiple publishers. His most credited work includes *The Savage She-Hulk*, *The Defenders*, and several Hulk-related titles. He co-created the character of She-Hulk with artist John Byrne, a milestone that expanded Marvel’s roster of female heroes. Kraft’s writing style balanced action with character-driven dialogue, often collaborating with artists like Byrne, Mike Vosburg, and Sal Buscema. After his Marvel run, he shifted focus to publishing *Comics Interview*, which ran for over a decade and became a respected resource for creator perspectives. He passed away on May 19, 2021, at age 68. While he did not receive major industry awards during his lifetime, his contributions to comics journalism and character creation remain influential among fans and historians.
