David Anthony Kraft

David Anthony Kraft was an American comic book writer, publisher, and critic, born on May 31, 1952. He is best known for his long-running journal *Comics Interview*, which featured in-depth conversations with industry figures, and for his work at Marvel Comics in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Kraft began his career in the mid-1970s, eventually writing, coloring, and editing over 120 issues across multiple publishers. His most credited work includes *The Savage She-Hulk*, *The Defenders*, and several Hulk-related titles. He co-created the character of She-Hulk with artist John Byrne, a milestone that expanded Marvel’s roster of female heroes. Kraft’s writing style balanced action with character-driven dialogue, often collaborating with artists like Byrne, Mike Vosburg, and Sal Buscema. After his Marvel run, he shifted focus to publishing *Comics Interview*, which ran for over a decade and became a respected resource for creator perspectives. He passed away on May 19, 2021, at age 68.
