Christophe Arleston
Christophe Arleston — born Christophe Pelinq on 14 August 1963 in France — is one of the most prolific writers working in European bandes dessinées today. He has also published work under the name Scotch Arleston. His career as a comics writer and editor stretches back to 1992 and, across more than three decades, he has accumulated writing credits on over 300 issues, a body of work that places him among the most consistently active voices in the Franco-Belgian tradition.
Arleston is perhaps best recognized for his fantasy and adventure series, with *Trolls de Troy* — also published in German as *Troll von Troy* and in Dutch as *Trollen van Troy* — standing as one of his signature creations, a long-running series blending humor with richly imagined world-building. His science-fiction series *Ythaq*, released in French and German as *Die Schiffbrüchigen von Ythaq*, demonstrates his range beyond pure fantasy, while *Ekhö de spiegelwereld* reflects his continued appetite for inventive, genre-bending storytelling.
Working across multiple languages and markets, Arleston has proved remarkably adaptable, collaborating with a variety of artists throughout his career. His sustained output and the international reach of his titles — translated and published across France, Germany, and the Netherlands — speak to an influence that extends well beyond his home country.
