Cavan Scott was born on 18 April 1973 and is a prolific British comic writer and author, best known for his extensive work on licensed properties including *Doctor Who*, *Star Wars*, *Teen Titans*, *Ghostbusters*, *Transformers*, and *Pacific Rim*. He entered the industry through journalism and publishing, conceiving and launching *Countryfile Magazine* in 2007 before moving into script editing for *Highlander* audiobooks and writing for *Blake's 7* at Big Finish Productions. Scott made his mark in comics by writing numerous *Doctor Who* ongoing series, including *The Ninth Doctor Ongoing*, and the crossover event *Supremacy of the Cybermen*. He is a key architect of the *Star Wars: The High Republic* publishing initiative, co-creating the era alongside Justina Ireland, Claudia Gray, Daniel José Older, and Charles Soule. His contributions include the Marvel comic series *Star Wars: The High Republic*, the novels *The Rising Storm* and *Path of Vengeance*, and the audio drama *Tempest Runner*. In 2020, Scott launched his first creator-owned series, *Shadow Service* (with artist Corin M. Howell), followed by *The Ward*, *Sleep Terrors*, and *Dead Seas*. His 2016 World Book Day title *Star Wars: The Escape* became the UK's number-one bestseller. Scott has also written *Sherlock Holmes* novels for Titan Books, beginning with *The Patchwork Devil* (2016), and children's books for *Skylanders*, *Adventure Time*, and *Angry Birds*. He remains active in comics, with over 100 credited issues, and has been a judge for countryside awards and a commentator on rural affairs for national media.
