The cover of this Dark Horse series tells you everything you need to know about the stakes: a massive, monstrous creature clutches a screaming figure in its enormous stone-like grip while two smaller human characters — one in an orange vest, one in a green jacket with a backpack — confront it from below, looking equal parts terrified and defiant. Cavan Scott's writing paired with Andres Ponce and Mauro Mantella's visuals promises a series that doesn't shy away from visceral, imaginative danger. Issue #2 already has the feel of a series hitting its stride.
