Cary Nord is a Canadian comic book artist whose career spans more than three decades across virtually every major publisher in the industry. Though his birth date and birthplace are not on record here, Nord broke into comics in the mid-1990s and quickly built a reputation for detailed, atmospheric linework that translates well across superhero and sword-and-sorcery genres alike.
Nord is perhaps best recognized for his long run on Conan the Barbarian at Dark Horse Comics, a series that showcased his talent for rendering muscular action sequences alongside richly textured environments. That work earned him the 2004 Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for Best Single Issue — one of the field's most respected honors. His other high-profile credits at Marvel include Daredevil, Wolverine, Mutant X, Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, and Thor, while DC readers know him from Superman and Wonder Woman. He also made a significant mark at Valiant Entertainment illustrating X-O Manowar, one of that publisher's flagship titles.
With credits on more than 200 issues logged between 1995 and the mid-2020s, Nord has demonstrated unusual longevity and range, contributing as artist, inker, and colorist across multiple titles. His ability to adapt his style to the demands of different characters and genres has made him a reliable and consistently engaging presence in mainstream comics.
