Alex Kotzky
Alex Kotzky was born on September 11, 1923, and passed away on September 26, 1996. He is best remembered for his three-decade run on the newspaper strip *Apartment 3-G*, which was distributed by Publishers Syndicate. Kotzky’s path into comics began in the 1940s, when he worked as an artist and inker for several publishers. His credits span 52 issues, with notable work on titles such as *Doll Man*, *Plastic Man*, *Police Comics*, *Feature Comics*, and *The Spirit*. He also contributed to *Gwandanaland Comics*. Kotzky’s style was clean and expressive, suited to both the adventure and humor genres of his era. His most enduring collaboration was with writer Nicholas P. Dallis on *Apartment 3-G*, a soap-opera strip that ran from 1961 into the 1990s. Kotzky’s later career was defined by this strip, which he both wrote and drew for many years. While he did not receive major industry awards widely recorded, his steady, professional output left a mark on the comic-strip landscape. His legacy is that of a reliable craftsman who helped sustain a popular daily feature for decades, bridging the golden age of comic books with the modern newspaper strip.
