Surge

Surge is a member of the DNAgents, a team of artificially created superhumans published by Eclipse Comics. Developed by Mark Evanier and Will Meugniot, Surge operates alongside teammates Rainbow, Amber, Sham, Tank, and Crossfire as a product of genetic engineering.

Surge crackled onto the Bronze Age comics scene in 1983, born from the creative partnership of Mark Evanier and Will Meugniot in the pages of Eclipse Comics' The DNAgents — an independent publisher's bold answer to the superhero landscape of the era. Sharing adventures with the likes of Rainbow, Amber, Sham, Tank, and Crossfire, Surge carved out a niche in that scrappy, imaginative corner of comics where Eclipse dared to do things differently.
