Sugar Plumm
Sugar Plumm is one of two infant protagonists of DC's long-running humor series. Born to ordinary suburban parents, she and her neighbor Spike communicate in a secret baby language unintelligible to adults, getting into comedic mischief together.
Few characters in DC's long history can claim the kind of gentle, enduring charm that Sugar Plumm brings to the page β a toddler heroine who debuted in Sugar & Spike #1 in 1956, the inspired creation of Sheldon Mayer, and a genuine treasure of the Golden Age. Sharing her adventures most often with Spike Wilson, she anchors one of comics' most warmly regarded humor series, yet her world is wide enough to brush up against the likes of Superman and Batman themselves. With appearances stretching across nearly six decades and a presence in titles like My Greatest Adventure and Binky, Sugar Plumm is proof that the most unlikely protagonists can leave the deepest impressions β and that one key issue in the collection is sometimes all it takes to fall completely in love.
