Who is Pietro Maximoff?

Pietro Maximoff, known as Quicksilver, first appeared as a mutant with superhuman speed. The son of Magneto and twin brother of Wanda Maximoff (the Scarlet Witch), he debuted as a reluctant member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants before later seeking a heroic path.

Stan Lee and Don Heck introduced Pietro Maximoff to the world in 1967's Hit Comics #23, and this Silver Age creation has been a fixture of Marvel's universe ever since — turning up across nearly six decades of stories in series like X-Men, Marvel Origins, and Hit Comics. With four key-issue appearances to his name, Pietro is no stranger to collector attention, and the company he keeps tells you everything about the circles he runs in: pages shared with the likes of Captain America, Steve Rogers, Wanda Maximoff, and the Scarlet Witch place him squarely at the heart of Marvel's most consequential moments. Forty-three catalog appearances spanning 1967 to 2026 make him a remarkably enduring presence — a Silver Age original who has never stopped mattering.
