Die Fackel
Die Fackel is the German-language identity of Johnny Storm, the Human Torch of the Fantastic Four. Exposed to cosmic radiation alongside his sister Sue and her colleagues, Johnny gained the ability to engulf himself in flame and fly, becoming the team's hotheaded youngest member.
Born in the Silver Age from the legendary partnership of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Die Fackel made their debut in Hit Comics #2 in 1966 — and what a debut it was, launching a presence that has endured across an extraordinary six decades of publication. With 129 catalog appearances spread across Marvel Origins, Hit Comics, and Spider-Man Komplett, this is clearly a character woven deep into the fabric of their publisher Hachette's German-language Marvel universe. Five of those appearances carry key-issue status, a testament to the genuine collector significance Die Fackel has accumulated over the years. The company here is nothing short of spectacular — sharing pages with Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Susan Storm-Richards, and Das Ding — making Die Fackel a fixture in some of the most celebrated corners of Marvel's Silver Age storytelling, and an essential find for any serious collector of the era.
