Who is Blastaar?

A ruthless warlord from the planet Baluur in the Negative Zone, Blastaar was overthrown by his own people and left to drift in space—until he encountered the Fantastic Four. He possesses immense strength and can unleash devastating concussive energy blasts from his body.

Born from the imagination of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in Fantastic Four #62, Blastaar crashed into the Marvel Silver Age in 1967 as a force to be reckoned with — and he's been causing trouble across the cosmos ever since. A fixture in the pages of Fantastic Four, he's kept relentless company with Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, and the Human Torch, earning his place among the era's most memorable adversaries. His reach extends well beyond those classic Lee-Kirby clashes, with major roles in Annihilation: Conquest and War of Kings proving that this character has genuine staying power across nearly six decades of Marvel history. With two key collector issues to his name and 59 catalog appearances spanning 1967 to 2024, Blastaar is a Silver Age original whose cosmic footprint is impossible to ignore.
