From 1950 to 1954, Fawcett Publications rode the postwar Western craze with Tex Ritter Western, a 20-issue series spotlighting the singing cowboy star. Writers Clement Good, John Martin, and Walter Farmer, alongside artists Tony Tallarico and Pete Riss, chronicled the adventures of the titular lawman and performer. Though the covers often featured a photograph of the real-life Ritter, the interior strips blended rootin'-tootin' action with the folksy charm of his radio and film persona.
