When Reggie asks for Tex's help locating Lord Weltham in Sulphur Valley to deliver an inheritance, the two set out together—only to find the lord acting strangely evasive and hostile, spurring Tex and Reggie to investigate what's really going on at the peculiar castle-like ranch. As Reggie explores the property alone the next morning, he discovers signs of something sinister happening inside, setting the stage for Tex's quick trigger-finger to come into play.

Loonie Les finds himself in a bewildering predicament near some gooseberry bushes, and his confusion leads to a hilariously mistaken conclusion about what he's just eaten. This single-page gag plays on the absurd logic of a befuddled character jumping to the wrong conclusion in the most comedic way possible.
