Spider-Gwen

In this alternate-universe Marvel series running from 2015 to 2018, it's Gwen Stacy—not Peter Parker—who is bitten by a radioactive spider and becomes the web-slinging hero known as Spider-Woman. Co-created by writer Jason Latour and artist Robbi Rodriguez, the book blends punk-rock aesthetics with high-school drama, as Gwen balances crime-fighting, her band The Mary Janes, and a friendship with Mary Jane Watson and Betty Brant. With later contributions from Brian Michael Bendis and artists Chris Visions and Jorge Coelho, the series became a defining take on the Spider-Verse, celebrated for its fresh, character-driven spin on a classic Marvel origin.
