“Killable Part 2”

In "Killable Part 2," Wolverine returns to the mansion to find his room in ruins and his samurai sword stolen—Mystique's handiwork, it seems. With the X-Men tracking her movements through Sabretooth's faction of the Hand, Wolverine vows to Beast he'll let it go, only to immediately chase after her in the Blackbird. Kitty tries to stop him, but the jet is shot down by Batroc, who's after a ten million dollar bounty on Wolverine’s head—leaving the mutant to fight bare-handed, even without his healing factor. Written by Paul Cornell and illustrated by Alan Davis, with inks by Mark Farmer, colors by Matt Hollingsworth, and letters by Virtual Calligraphy and Cory Petit, the cover by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer captures the tension of the moment.

Wolverine returns to the mansion to discover that Mystique snuck in, tore up his room, and stole his samurai sword. The X-Men determine that Sabretooth's faction of the Hand allowed her to make it into the mansion undetected. Wolverine promises Beast he will let it go but immediately takes off in the Blackbird to get his sword back. Kitty follows and gives him grief for breaking his word. The Blackbird is shot down by Batroc who is after a ten million dollar bounty the Hand has put on Wolverine's head. Even without his healing factor, Wolverine beats Batroc.
