Wolverine #8
In "Killable Part 1," Wolverine faces a terrifying new threat: an alien virus that's wiping out meta-humans with viral control powers, leaving only one survivor—the enigmatic Host. With his healing factor gone and forced into a brutal, defensive fight against Black Panther, Wolverine struggles to adapt as Storm, Fury, and Victoria race through a Wakandan jungle lab to rescue the last hope for humanity. Written by Paul Cornell and brought to life with dynamic art by Alan Davis—his cover pencils joined by Mark Farmer’s inks—this pivotal issue marks a shocking turning point in Wolverine’s story, with Matt Hollingsworth’s colors and VC’s Cory Petit’s lettering adding depth to the high-stakes tension.

An alien virus that controls people's minds and is threatening to take over the world has killed every meta-human that has power over viruses except for one. While Wolverine keeps Black Panther occupied, Storm, Fury and Victoria sneak into a Wakandan jungle lab and rescue the powerful woman known only as the Host as she is humanity's last hope. While dueling T'Challa, Wolverine finds it exceedingly difficult to change up his regular fighting style as he is now forced to protect himself as he no longer possesses a healing factor.
