Ultimate X-Men #14
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeUltimate X-Men #14 sits at the dramatic heart of the 'Realm of the Mind' arc, depicting Hisako Ichiki's full possession by the Shadow King and her transformation into 'Dark Armor' — the series' most explicit confrontation yet between its protagonist and the psychic horror that has haunted her since issue #1. As part of Peach Momoko's manga-inflected, Japan-set reimagining of the X-Men on Earth-6160, the issue deepens the series' commitment to superhero-horror storytelling and to centering an almost entirely female ensemble of new Ultimate Universe mutants — a creative departure that critics noted strips away virtually every classic X-Men trope in favor of the franchise's core emotional theme of alienation.

The series launched in March 2024 as the third title in Marvel's second Ultimate Universe line, with Peach Momoko — who was born and raised in Japan — handling both plot and art, and Zack Davisson (her Demon Days collaborator) adapting the scripts into English. Issue #14 was edited by Wil Moss with assistant editing by Michelle Marchese, and falls into the second year of the run, collected in the 'Vol. 3: The Realm of the Mind' trade paperback alongside issues #13–18. The series concluded with issue #24 in February 2026.
