Ultimate Wolverine #9

This Ultimate Wolverine sports a striking red-and-white costume design as he charges forward with adamantium claws extended, completely surrounded by a crowd of armored, glowing-eyed figures closing in from every direction. Alessandro Cappuccio's cover composition does a superb job of conveying raw, cornered ferocity — one feral mutant against what looks like an overwhelming tactical force. Chris Condon, Cappuccio, and colorist Bryan Valenza have built something genuinely compelling with this series, and issue #9 looks like it's raising the stakes considerably.
