Ultimate Wolverine #2

History

The series was announced at New York Comic Con in October 2024 and assigned to writer Chris Condon, known for the noir crime series That Texas Blood, and artist Alessandro Cappuccio, who had drawn Moon Knight for Marvel. The character of this Ultimate Wolverine made his debut appearance in the one-shot Ultimate Universe: One Year In (December 2024) before the ongoing launched in January 2025; issue #2 followed on February 19, 2025. The creative team's pairing of a slow-burn crime-fiction writer with a visually atmospheric artist was a deliberate editorial choice to give the series a psychological thriller register distinct from the other Ultimate Universe titles running concurrently under editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski.
