Thor et ses compagnons ne retournent à Asgard que pour le trouver occupé par des Lézards. Après une brève escarmouche, les Lézards se présentent comme les victimes d'une autre race extraterrestre, les Vrellnexians, et prétendent qu'ils peuvent aider Thor à retrouver Odin disparu. Cet aspect de leur histoire est vrai. Odin est retrouvé, drogué et lié comme esclave. Une fois libéré par Thor, Odin tente d'avertir Thor, trop tard, que ses alliés lézards sont les vrais méchants.
