“Firesword!”

In "Firesword!", Thor faces off against the Absorbing Man and then Loki in a clash of myth and might, as the thunder god summons a storm to blind his cunning foe. With Sif's help, Thor secures an unexpected ally in Karnilla, whose promise to join her on a quest adds a new layer to the battle. The issue's dynamic art by John Buscema and M. Severin, with inks by Vinnie Colletta and M. Severin, brings the epic confrontation to life, while Gil Kane's cover captures the intensity of the moment.

While the comics creators take part in Tom Fagan's Halloween costume parade, Thor battles first the Absorbing Man and then Loki. Sif persuades Karnilla to assist Thor in his fight with Loki, in return for which she agrees to accompany Karnilla on a quest. Thor summons a storm, and Loki is rendered blind. Stumbling, he falls over the edge of a cliff.
