Thor and a winged-helmeted Asgardian warrior stand grim-faced in the foreground — Mjolnir gripped and ready — while an enormous horned silhouette with glowing green eyes looms over them both against a blood-red sky. Olivier Coipel and Mark Morales deliver a cover that radiates genuine menace, the shadowy giant's sheer scale making it clear our heroes are in for something formidable. J. Michael Straczynski's run on this 2009 series continues with issue #12, "Diversions and Misdirections," and the tension etched on every face here promises the story earns that title.
