The Spectacular Spider-Men launched in March 2024 under writer Greg Weisman, creator of the beloved 2008–2009 animated The Spectacular Spider-Man series, with art by Humberto Ramos, a veteran who had drawn major runs on Amazing Spider-Man. The pairing reunited Weisman with the Spider-Man property in comics form for the first time in any sustained way — his only previous Spidey comic credit had been a back-up strip in Amazing Spider-Man #622 (2010) — and gave him room to plant supporting characters carried over from his 2015–2016 Marvel series Starbrand & Nightmask (Kenny Kong, Shelly Conklin, Cedric Harrison) alongside 616 comic-book versions of figures he had developed for the animated show. Issue #7 ('Arachnobatics, Chapter 7: The Kitchen Sink'), released September 4, 2024, with a cover-date of November 2024, was written by Weisman with interior art and colors by Humberto Ramos and Edgar Delgado respectively; a Francesco Manna variant cover was also produced.
