“Legions of the Dead”

In "Legions of the Dead," young Conan teams up with Jarl Njal and his band of Aesir on a perilous mission into the frozen reaches of Hyperborea to rescue Njal’s kidnapped daughter, Rann. After a scouting party is brutally captured and killed by the Witch-men of the Haloga fort, Conan slips inside to free Rann—only to be taken prisoner himself as the fortress unleashes a legion of the undead upon them. Written by Roy Thomas and brought to life with dynamic art by Sal Buscema and inks by Tony DeZuniga, this issue delivers a chilling blend of survival, ancient magic, and desperate courage. The cover, by Earl Norem, captures the grim intensity of the tale.
