In "De dødes hær," young Conan joins Jarl Njål’s band of Aesir on a perilous mission into Hyperborea to rescue Njål’s daughter, Rann Njålsdatter, taken by the Witch-men of the Haloga fort. After a scouting party is brutally captured and tortured, Conan slips inside the fortress, freeing Rann only to be captured himself as Queen Vammatar unleashes her legion of the undead. With Rann fleeing for her life and Conan now enslaved, the fate of both hangs in the balance.
