“Swarm of the Bogwitch”

Against a swollen full moon with bats wheeling overhead, Conan stands triumphant atop a massive, fang-mouthed creature — blood-streaked axe raised high overhead — while enormous clawed hands reach in from both sides of the frame, hinting at dangers still lurking in the shadows. Ovi Hondru's cover painting captures the Cimmerian in full barbaric glory, every muscle tensed for another strike, a dagger at his belt and bare feet planted defiantly on his fallen foe. With the interior tale titled "Swarm of the Bogwitch," this April 1990 issue promises the kind of dark, monster-haunted adventure that makes Savage Sword such a satisfying read.
