The cover of issue #428 promises exactly what the tagline delivers — a "Battle of the Green Behemoths!" — as the Hulk and a massive, vine-covered swamp creature lock arms in a crushing struggle amid crashing waves, their sheer bulk filling nearly every inch of the image. The earthen monster's glowing red eyes give it an unsettling menace to match the Hulk's raw power, and the muddy, textured rendering by cover artists Liam Sharp and Robin Riggs makes the clash feel genuinely visceral. With Peter David writing and Sharp on interior art as well, this April 1995 issue looks like a wonderfully over-the-top monster bout.
