“Is There Hulk After Death?”

That cover says it all — the Hulk fills the frame in a raw, teeth-bared scream of rage, his massive fists clenched on either side of his face while a pair of armored purple hands grip him from below, with the bold tagline "Death Triumphant!" leaving little doubt that the stakes couldn't be higher. Ron Wilson's pencils and Joe Rubinstein's inks give the Green Goliath an almost sculptural intensity that jumps right off the 1978 newsstand. Roger Stern's story, brought to life by artist Sal Buscema, promises a wrestle with mortality worthy of that unforgettable cover image.
