About this Collection

This volume collects The Flash #30-35, continuing Geoff Johns' celebrated run on the Scarlet Speedster. The story delves into Barry Allen's past as a mysterious secret from his childhood resurfaces, forcing him to confront painful truths about his mother's murder and his father's imprisonment. Along the way, the Rogues—including Captain Cold, Mirror Master, and Weather Wizard—launch a coordinated attack that tests the Flash's resolve and his relationships with allies like Green Lantern and the Atom.

In "Rush Hour!", Wally West confronts a haunting revelation when he reads a letter from Barry Allen, detailing how the JLA's attempt to rewrite Dr. Light's memories backfired—and how Zatanna's effort to reform the Top ended in tragedy. Written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Howard Porter, with inks by Livesay, colors by James Sinclair, and letters by Pat Brosseau, this 2005 Flash issue explores the cost of second chances, with a cover by Michael Turner and Ethan Van Sciver.

Wally West reads a letter written by Barry Allen. In it, Allen explains that the JLA had tampered with the memory of Dr. Light. So he foolishly enlisted Zatanna's aid in altering the psyche of the Top, turning him into a hero. Unfortunately, the reformed Top couldn't bear the memory of his evil acts and collapsed from the strain.
