Known for his atmospheric art and macabre twists, Cameron's work here features tales of the undead, vengeful spirits, and other supernatural terrors, showcasing the raw, unbridled style of the era before the Comics Code Authority tightened its grip. The collection includes a mix of one-off shockers and recurring series like 'The Unsleeping Dead,' preserving a key piece of horror comics history.
In "The Muscle Man," businessman Arthur Matlin stumbles upon a magic sundial that calls forth Chronos, the spirit of time, granting him the power to glimpse just a few hours ahead. With this edge, he plans and executes crimes with eerie precision—until the law closes in and the sundial is destroyed. Now trapped in the future, Matlin’s fate is sealed, his only companion the endless rush of time he once manipulated. Illustrated in bold, dynamic style by Lou Cameron, whose distinctive art brings the eerie, timeless dread of the story to life, this issue stands as a striking example of classic horror’s enduring power.
