Few team-ups carry quite the visual charge of Batman squaring off — or perhaps squaring up — against a winged, feral Man-Bat against a blazing orange moon atop what looks like a castle battlement. Jim Aparo's cover art crackles with tension as Batman braces in a defensive crouch, arms outstretched, while Man-Bat swoops in with claws bared and wings spread wide. This June 1975 issue of The Brave and the Bold pairs two of Gotham's most bat-aligned figures in a story titled "Bring Back Killer Krag," with Aparo handling writing duties and full art from Bob Haney and Jim Aparo respectively — a tight creative pairing that gives the whole package a wonderfully cohesive energy.
