Issue #649 was written by Dan Slott with pencils and cover art by Humberto Ramos, inked by Carlos Cuevas and colored by Edgar Delgado, and published by Marvel in January 2011. It arrived as the second chapter of the 'Big Time' arc (beginning in #648), the story that ended the 'Brand New Day' era's three-writers-monthly model and handed Slott the book as its single writer; concurrently, the series shifted from three issues a month to two, while expanding from 22 to 30 pages per issue. The issue also received a second-printing variant cover — part of a pattern: all nine 'Big Time' issues sold out at Diamond and received second printings.
