The Amazing Spider-Man #603
In "Red-Headed Stranger [Part 3]: Deconstructing Peter," the Chameleon’s impersonation of Peter Parker reaches a chilling peak as he navigates both the hero’s life and personal relationships with unsettling precision. With Spider-Man barely clinging to life after being submerged in acid, the real Peter fights to reclaim his identity while the impostor moves closer to exposing New York’s most guarded secret. Written by Fred Van Lente and illustrated by Robert Atkins, with colors by Jeromy Cox and letters by Joe Caramagna, this issue delivers a tense, character-driven twist on the web-slinger’s legacy, all framed by Stéphane Roux’s striking cover.

The Chameleon has replaced Peter Parker so that he can get close to Mayor J. Jonah Jameson and sell the secret location of New York's new top secret underground security bunker to Arab terrorists. As an interesting aside, he manages to live Peter's life and manage his personal relationships better than Peter himself. Spider-Man manages to crawl out of the tub of acid in which he was immersed by Chameleon.
