“Sins Past Part Four”

Sins Past" reaches its fourth chapter in this 2004 installment of The Amazing Spider-Man, with Mike Deodato and Brian Haberlin delivering a cover that's hard to look away from. Spider-Man clings to the cables of what appears to be a massive suspension bridge, fists clenched, while two dark-suited, armored pursuers close in on him from above — the tension of being outnumbered and cornered is palpable in every line. J. Michael Straczynski's ongoing arc continues to push Peter Parker into some genuinely uncomfortable territory, and this cover makes clear the pressure isn't letting up anytime soon.
