“Goblin In the Middle”

In "Goblin In the Middle," Spider-Man races to save Flash from the Goblin’s deadly grasp, only to lose him in the chaos—just as Aunt May suffers another heart attack in the hospital. Sneaking into a secret meeting of crime bosses, Spider-Man overhears the Goblin and Silvermane locked in a power struggle, with the Goblin vowing to prove his dominance by killing Spider-Man. Written by Len Wein and illustrated by Ross Andru, with inks by Mike Esposito and colors by Glynis Wein, the cover by Ross Andru and Joe Sinnott captures the tension of a 1978 Marvel classic.
