Part three of Brian K. Vaughan's "Concrete Jungle" arc finds Swamp Thing's world colliding with a vivid urban crowd — Simon Bisley's painted cover depicts a dense, jostling bar scene packed with eccentric, richly detailed characters, including a pale white-haired young woman at the center clutching a drink, surrounded by an array of tattooed, masked, and otherworldly figures. The green slime creeping in from the edges hints that something distinctly unnatural lurks beneath the gritty city surface. Vertigo's 2001 lineup rarely looked this alive and unsettling at once.
