Strange Spécial Origines #169
In "Combat mortel avec le Prince des Mers !", the X-Men are sent by Professor X to investigate a new mutant, leading them to a mysterious carnival where they meet the Blob—a towering sideshow performer whose thick, elastic body deflects bullets and resists movement. Though the X-Men try to recruit him, the Blob refuses, only to be brought back to the mansion when his knowledge of their secret becomes a risk. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Jack Kirby with inks by Paul Reinman, this 1984 issue from Editions Lug features a striking cover by Jean-Yves Mitton.

Professor X detects a new mutant and sends the X-Men to investigate. They arrive at a carnival and encounter the Blob, a very fat sideshow attraction who can bounce bullets off of his malleable hide as well as anchor himself to the earth and become immovable. The X-Men bring him back to the mansion as a potential member but the Blob spurns their invitation and returns to the carnival. Realizing that the Blob knows their secret, the X-Men lure him back to the mansion where Xavier wipes his memory.
