Spawn #164
In "Home Coming," Al returns to a world restored, ready to reclaim his life with Wanda—until a shocking moment from the past surfaces. Through a vision granted by Mom, Al witnesses a confrontation between Wanda and Terry that forces him to confront a buried truth: the child he once ended, a secret his memory had erased. Written by David Hine and illustrated by Philip Tan, with inks by Danny Miki and Ryan Winn, colors by Brian Haberlin, Andy Troy, and Ian Hannin, and letters by Tom Orzechowski, this issue captures a raw, pivotal moment in Al's journey. The cover, by Greg Capullo, mirrors the emotional weight of the story with its haunting, intimate framing.

With the world finally restored, Al prepares to reunite with Wanda and take his old life back. Before he does, however, Mom allows him to watch a fight between Wanda and Terry where she reveals a secret that Al's memory has long suppressed. Before Al left on the mission where he died and became Spawn, he had punched Wanda in the stomach and aborted their unborn baby as children were not part of his current plans. Horrified by this revelation, Al transforms back into Spawn and returns to the alley where it all began.
