Spawn looms large on this 2006 Image cover, his tattered crimson cape swirling dramatically as he thrusts forward with a jagged, spectral weapon in one hand and a glowing green energy claw crackling in the other — a portrait of raw, otherworldly menace. The cover is the work of Greg Capullo, whose confident linework gives the hellspawn an intense, coiled-spring energy against a deep, shadow-drenched background.
