Sonic the Hedgehog #262

Part three of "Waves of Change" plunges Sonic into what looks like a genuinely harrowing underwater ordeal — the cover by Ben Bates shows him tumbling through a swirling torrent of bubbles, wide-eyed and off-balance, while dark, ominous shapes with glowing pink eyes lurk menacingly in the depths around him. The contrast between those luminous bubbles and the shadowy creatures closing in makes for a striking, dynamic image that captures the story's title — "Terror in the Deep" — perfectly. Archie's 2014 Sonic series was delivering some vivid storytelling energy, and this cover is a fine invitation to dive in.
