“Untitled”

"Untitled" from Siege: The Cabal #1 (2010) brings together a shadowy coalition of Marvel's most powerful figures as Norman Osborn reveals his next move: targeting Asgard, now grounded in Oklahoma. With the introduction of Taskmaster as Namor’s replacement and a defiant Doom seemingly destroyed by a blast—only to be revealed as a Doombot—tensions rise. As the Cabal grapples with the president’s refusal to authorize an assault, Loki proposes a calculated provocation to justify the attack. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Michael Lark, with inks by Stefano Gaudiano, colors by Matt Hollingsworth, and letters by Chris Eliopoulos, the issue’s cover by David Finch captures the storm brewing at the heart of the Cabal’s scheme.

The Goblin voice in Norman's head tells him that his next move in his bid for retaining power is to bring down Asgard which is now hovering over a field in Oklahoma. He calls another meeting of the Cabal to inform them of this new mission as well as introduce them to Taskmaster, who is replacing Namor. When Doom strenuously objects, Norman has him blasted only to discover that it is not Doom but a Doombot. When the president refuses to let Norman conduct an attack on Asgard, Loki suggests they create an incident that will allow such an attack to be acceptable.
