About this Collection

This volume collects DC's classic war-meets-prehistoric-monsters series, originally featured in Star Spangled War Stories and other titles from the 1960s. It follows World War II soldiers stranded on a mysterious island where they must battle dinosaurs and other ancient creatures while still fighting the enemy. Presented in black-and-white on cheap newsprint, this is the first of two Showcase Presents volumes gathering the complete run of the bizarre and action-packed series by writers like Robert Kanigher and artists like Russ Heath and Joe Kubert.
