Robot "buddy" can survive combat, even when the battlefield includes prehistoric beasts. A soldier, Mac, has to test his new "buddy", a G.I. Robot under battle conditions. The robot responds to voice commands, sometimes too well, as in crushing the soldier. They parachute to a Pacific Island, but are attacked by dinosaurs in the air and on land. Time and again "Joe" saves Mac's life. And his own by jumping out of quicksand. The robot tows Mac out to a PT Boat. A sailor calls, "You guys look... rugged! What happened?" "Ask my G.I. buddy! He'll tell you all about it!"
