Shade, the Changing Man #59

A giant-scale Shade looms over a glittering nocturnal cityscape — his bold patterned coat dissolving into the urban glow below as he clutches a tangle of wild green growth in both hands, his expression caught somewhere between unease and grim resolve. Duncan Fegredo's painted cover has a wonderfully unsettling quality, the neon-lit billboards and crowded streets below making Shade feel simultaneously part of the city and dangerously uncontained by it. This is the opener of the five-part "Nasty Infections" arc, with Peter Milligan writing and Mark Buckingham and Michael Lark on art — a strong creative lineup for what promises to be one of the series' more fever-dream chapters.
