Rom stands at the center of a visual collision — armored machines looming on one side, a mass of desperate humans pressing in on the other — as bolts of energy crackle across the divide. The cover tagline "Trapped Between Man and Machine — Which Side Will He Choose?" frames the tension perfectly, and Bill Sienkiewicz's cover art gives the whole thing a striking, almost painterly intensity. With Bill Mantlo writing and Steve Ditko on interior art, this July 1985 issue of Rom promises a story every bit as charged as that cover implies.
