“Truth or Consequences!”

In "Truth or Consequences!", the fate of Earth hangs in the balance as the black spot on the sun expands and Dire Wraiths grow bolder. With the world desperate for a solution, Rom travels to Forge’s aerie to plead for help—only to face a stubborn refusal, fueled by betrayal after Gyrich stole the last neutralizer to strip Storm of her powers. When a Wraith attack forces Forge’s hand, he agrees to act, but not before Brandy awakens from her coma to find her Starshine abilities gone. Written by Bill Mantlo and illustrated with sharp precision by Steve Ditko, with inks by Ian Akin and Brian Garvey, colors by Glynis Wein, and letters by Janice Chiang, this pivotal issue sees the stakes rise as alliances are tested and power comes at a cost. The cover, by Mike Zeck and John Beatty, captures the tension in a striking, dynamic moment.
