About this Collection

This volume collects the next chapters of Rumiko Takahashi's martial arts romantic comedy, continuing the chaotic adventures of Ranma Saotome and his rivals. As the cursed half-boy, half-girl martial artist navigates his engagements and feuds, characters like Shampoo, Ryoga Hibiki, and the lecherous master Happosai add to the comedic and combat-filled mayhem. The story deepens the love polygon and introduces new training challenges, all while maintaining the series' signature blend of slapstick and supernatural hijinks.

In "Part 1: The Evil Wakes," Ranma 1/2 #6 (1996) kicks off a wild new arc as Genma and Soun stage a fake threat of a "Dojo Destroyer" to bring Ranma and Akane together—only for the danger to become terrifyingly real. With Shampoo arriving with a mysterious formula that could make Ranma a man for good, the stakes rise fast: he must choose to date her on the day of the battle, or risk losing his chance forever. Written by Rumiko Takahashi, Gerard Jones, Toshifumi Yoshida, and Matt Thorn, and illustrated by Takahashi with inks by Wayne Truman, this issue features a cover by Rumiko Takahashi and Viz Graphics.
