Power Girl: Power Trip #[nn]
In "Power Trip, Part 1," Geoff Johns and Amanda Conner kick off a pivotal chapter in Power Girl’s journey as the Psycho-Pirate reveals a startling truth: she is one of the few survivors from a destroyed parallel universe, where she was a member of the Justice Society of America on Krypton’s Earth before the Anti-Monitor’s assault. With the past rewritten and her origins now in question, Power Girl is sent on a mission to warn others—before the next wave of chaos arrives. The issue’s bold narrative, brought to life by Amanda Conner’s dynamic art and Paul Mounts’ vivid colors, sets the stage for a story that redefines her place in the DC Universe.

The Psycho-Pirate tells Power Girl how the two of them are the only survivors of a parallel universe and that she came from the Krypton in that universe to its Earth and became a member of the Justice Society of America there before the universes were combined when the Anti-Monitor attacked. The Psycho-Pirate surmises he survived the re-writing of history because he was with the Anti-Monitor and that Power Girl survived because she still has some tie remaining in this new universe. The villain sends Power Girl off to tell everyone what she has learned before the coming crisis.
